Job Development

Job Development needs your Service Coordinator or Personal Agent to make a referral for you to Vocational Rehabilitation. This service is for people who are sure they want a job and are ready to work towards that goal. When you’re ready, you’ll get to share your interests and skills with your Vocational Counselor and they will connect you with an employment specialist. Sunshine has Employment Specialists, but you’re allowed to choose whoever you want to. You get to call the shots! Vocational Rehabilitation will give you choices of where you want to get your services from.

You will make a plan with your employment specialist about how you’re going to get a job. You will get help finding employers who need your skills and interests. The employment specialist will help you and be by your side to fill out applications, meet employers, and do interviews. Sometimes your employment specialist can be your job coach who will help you get used to your new job. (See more about Job Coaching here.)
